you have done what i have been thinking about for the longest time. Whenever i watch the movie Rounders it make me want to play poker. Poker for guild wars would be awsome. Would be a new way for poker addicts to make tons of money. The only problem is, is that it motivates gambling, which for people under 18 is illegal. And it may also motivate younger kids to gamble an dit will screw them up young, which would create a corrupted young child and an angry parent or 2. They are doing a good job by not implementing poker as much as it may be fun, it can to much more harm for NCSOFT.

We have already been doing this within our guild, but finding a good website that is free to host such things is hard... Yahoo is so restrictive - but I think one of our guildies found one that you just hook up on a server and make your own rules... Haven't had the chance yet to try it out. But we love doing such things with our guildies.
On occassion we do actual pots with ingame gold but it's not something we inforce, it's only if someone wants to throw some money in (and NEVER big money). But yeah I think it would be great to have it within the game - though I doubt my husband would ever leave the guild hall >_>

1) ANet would NEVER implement this. The banned /rolldice from towns because it brought in too many scams and had relations to gambling, so they would never implement Texas Hold'Em. Also, why would ANet bother implementing something that is COMPLETELY unrelated to their game?
2) Play Texas Hold'Em somewhere else--not GW. If you're tired of GW, don't play GW.

I'm not trying to be rude, but if I want to play GW, I log onto GW. If I want to play poker, I go to one of the hundreds of sites out there to play poker, or I get my friends together and do it for real. I can see your point of having a way to hang out with guildies, but I only have 2 types of people in my guild: those I know from GW and want to play GW with, and those I know in real life who I could play poker for real.
I guess my real problem is with minigames in general, though. The way I see it, if you want to play GW, do so. If not, exit, and play another game or whatever that way. No one is forcing you to play GW to the point of it being so boring that you need to have minigames.

If you want to play any form of poker, go to www.partypoker.com and download the client. Just set up times and a table with your guildies, it's much simpler.
